What makes Bredon School different PDF Print E-mail
Visitors to Bredon School’s Spring Term Open Day can find out about its reputation for combining an exceptionally wide choice of courses with a commitment to academic success.

Pupils and staff will be on hand to show visitors around the school and to give a range of demonstrations in its working farm, sports facilities, workshops and classrooms. The Open Day takes place from 10am to noon on Saturday 3 February 2007.

Doug Sharp, the school’s Admissions and Development Manager, said: “I always look forward to meeting parents at Open Days and explaining what makes Bredon a little different. We pride ourselves on taking children with a range of abilities, finding out what they are good at, then stretching them so they make the most of their talents. ”

By offering a combination of small class sizes and a wide curriculum – including many vocational courses for older boys and girls and an extensive range of sporting opportunities – the school between Ledbury and Tewkesbury provides an education that is tailored to individual needs and abilities.

Bredon aims to be forward-looking and innovative: one group of Bredon pupils are this year among the first in the country to begin the ‘eGCSE’ course in Environmental and Land-based Science – the first-ever GCSE assessed and examined entirely online.

Bredon School also has an international reputation for helping children with dyslexia and other Specific Learning Difficulties through its Access Centre, headed by Vice Principal Sue Webb.

The 7-18 day and boarding school is set in 84 acres of landscaped grounds around the Pull Court mansion at Bushley, near Tewkesbury.
